Named after the ancient god of darkness, Leviathan Czernobog is a tribute to the hardy stouts originally brewed in England for shipment to the frigid Baltic. With notes of unsweetened chocolate, molasses, and dark fruit, this Russian Imperial Stout will withstand the darked of winters.

black color, aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits, earth notes, same flavors with chocolate, coffee, slight pine hops, pretty strong astringent boozy finish, lacking the rich complexity of a good imperial stout

in snifter, from hose, from keg .. . pours a very dark brown black .. . mild foam .. . tar, deep ash, and charcoal .. . quite a light stout, also a bit boring and calm but for the abv quite impressive .. . . are there bakeries near paris, france?

Pours black with tan head, a little bit of light shines through the edges. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee - very typical of an RIS. Flavor is pretty smooth considering the abv. Flavor is dark chocolate, maybe a bit of coffee. Pretty tasty and drinkable. Not too heavy, and slightly thin mouthfeel. Overall very good, but thinner than I expected.

Tap thanks to beerandblues2. Pours opaque black with average, frothy tan head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, roast malt, light woody notes and faint earthy hops. Flavor is roast malt forward with chocolate, coffee, earthy hops, dark fruit esters and light vanilla; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

12oz bottle. Small brown head atop black body with brown edge. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, bittersweet chocolate, some earthy, light raisin. Taste is medium sweet -- really not much happening until the back of the mouth, when roasty bitterness, earthiness and dark chocolate kick in. Medium-full body, some stickiness.

Typical pitch Black Russian imperial with a dark mocha head - sadly dissipates to nothing. Aroma of coffee and bitter dark chocolate, slight dark fruit sweetness. Taste is not too eventful - coffee comes out more as it warms, chocolate and roasted malts follow. Feels light for a impy stout with notable active carbonation. Overall it's a nice middle of the road Russian imperial but not as big in any aspect as I was expecting and would like. Alcohol is hidden very well. Glad I tried it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of dark fruit, roasted malt, with hints of coffee and molasses. Pours a dark blackish brown with a none lasting tan head and no lacing. The taste is typical of imperial stouts. Rich roasted malts, raisins, molasses, a little boozy. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Overall, enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep brown in color with an off white head that settles off completely. Aroma is sweet with chocolatey, molasses notes. Tastes sweet and smooth, much like a milk stout, though more intense with the chocolate flavors. A bit warming.
