Bomber poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit, orange zest and a hint of pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering citrus finish.

Pours a beautiful amber-ruby color with a solid off-white head. Full-mouthed flavor; chewable malt backbone with a rounded hop strength throughout that lingers in the finish with a pleasant bitterness. Well balanced, strong malt & hop aroma.

Served at harpoon brewery in vermont on tap.
A - deep wood brown with minimal head.
S - piney smell, lots of hops but a sweetness with vanilla and syrup that’s very pleasant.
T- huge hop explosion. Very strong maltyness but not in an overpowering way. It’s a very balanced IPA.
M - medium body and tons of carbonation.
O - this is a fantastic. IIPA!

On tap at Harpoon in Vermont. The color is a clear amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is of hops and citrus fruits. The taste is also of hops and citrus fruits and a tad of sweet malt.It leaves a very pleasant taste in your mouth, and the 10 % alcohol is not that strong.A good double I.P.A.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 msojka (457) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Pour is an orange color with a small white head, quickly turning into just a ring. Nose is of some floral hops with a slight citric back bone. Taste is very citric up front with a little bit of malt in the backbone. Very smooth on the palate with a light carbonation.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcnealc31 (173) - Elida, Ohio, USA - JAN 18, 2012
unquestionably lives up to the promise with the aroma. A complex mixture of hops promises a big hop wallop with the first sip. And while this beer is big and rather bitter, there is enough malt backbone to even things out. I should note I am having this a little after the “best by” date on the bottle. It hasn’t gone bad, but perhaps the hops are not as prominent as intended.
A blend of grapefruit and pine hit first, some lightly toasted, then a gigantic hit of bitter grassy hops that linger for a long time. There is also a bit of heat from the 10% ABV.
Well, it’s a hop bomb at more than 100+ IBUs. I think you know what to expect.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 alcaponejunior (149) - Missouri, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Georgeous orange color with hints of amber, clear with lots of rising bubbles, small but lasting head and good lace. Smell is a bit subdued, but malty with IPA grapefruit and pine notes. Just a hint of alcohol but not much. Taste is sweet and malty with the piney citrus hops kinda sneaking up on you with a tangy zest. Very tasty stuff. Body is thick, almost syrupy from the sweetness, with just a tinge of hop oilyness. Overall it’s quite tasty, a nice double.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AWISLguy (338) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 2, 2012
Growler from Vine & Barley, shared with ck1 - thanks bro! Pours orangey brown with a bit of a head. Nice lacing. Aroma has multi citrus smells; lemon, orange and perhaps apricots. Some underlaying toffee. Taste brings citrus fruit, pine, caramel. Some stickiness. Nicely syrupy imperialness. Vrey solid malt back. Finishes somewhat dry and fruity bittersweet. Very nice blend of hops and malt - and superior to my memory of my prior tasting of this brew.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 high_on_hops (213) - Missouri, USA - DEC 31, 2011
A nice gold color with a white head and some lacing. The aroma is mostly piney hops, with a bit of citrus in there as well. The flavor is strong hops with a resin flavor, but a lot of malt as well, especially in the aftertaste. Maybe the maltiest IIPA I’ve tasted.
