2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bonused from RCL and Tweety. Pours orange with a 2 finger tan bubbly head. Nose is sweet and some what soapy. Taste is sweet and somewhat citrussy. Overall ok, but not good by west coast standards.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good citrus and floral aroma even detected a hint of bubblegum? The flavor is a bit less potent and complex than the aroma but that isn’t particularly unusual. Astringent bitterness on the end. Nice mouthfeel and good body without being too heavy. No trace of alcohol. This definitely rises above the normal Harpoon offering and actually stands up very well against the Founders Double Trouble I just had. I definitely wasn’t expecting this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear darker golden with a small white froth. Peachy grapefruit aroma with some toasted caramel malts, slightly perfumy. First taste is big salty hops, bit of piney bitterness, very salty, light caramel and citrus. Fruity finish. Very smooth medium body, creamy mouthful with fine soft fizzling carbonation. A solid well balanced brew but nothing new or really interesting. Does a good job not seeming like a 10% beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a golden amber color with a nice slightly off-white head (very slightly). Aroma is citrusy and has a piny hop smell. The beer has a sweet bready malt undertone all the way through. The hops come out hard in the bitter finish and there is also a bitter aftertaste soon after. Full feel to the beer, but not too thick. The taste is not overly complex, but the beer is very drinkable and all the flavors are done very right.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz - Clear orange, thick creamy white head. Rich pine and juicy grapefruit nose with soft underlying toasted sweet malt. Further floral peachy-like tones emerge at room temperature. Intense resiny citric hop bitterness up front that rides a lightly sweetened malt backbone. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Harpoon!? Hard to believe. This brew is bitter without a doubt, but is meant for nothing more than a hop fix. For this, it worked quite well for me...

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Golden pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma has tons of citrus, flowers, grapefruit, and spicy hops. Flavor is all bitter and peppery hops and alcohol. No balance from malts. All you taste is hop and citrus. Finish is bitter and pepper and lasts forever. No balance whatsoever.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Creamy head atop a gold body. Aroma is mostly Citrusy grapefruit and orange zest. Big alcohol with big hops. Not being worried about balance, this stuff isn’t but there’s that damn medicinal thing is there again. Maybe this stuff will mellow out a bit but right now it ain’t all that good.
