3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
An orange amber body with a white head that had some retention, but no lace. Aroma had some nice caramel malts. A nice blend of citrus and pine hops, leaning closer towards pine. Some floral hops. Flavor really showcased the pine hops and while assertive in now way was it dominating. Finish was slightly dry. Alcohol was well hidden.

From a bottle. Well balanced, almost to the point of being a little bland. Good flavour though. Easy drinking for an Imperial.

Pours orange-ish color, thin head. Big abv but bareley noticeable, agressive hop character but balanced by its malty presence. Great beer. Loved it.

On tap at the brewery in 2010. Poured a dark gold with a whitish head. Aroma of fruit and grapefruit; slightly sweet and fairly vibrant. Fairly hoppy in the flavor, but there was some balance. Some pine notes emerge.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hard resinous, chipped pine and dried citrus peel aroma. Clear orange, could be any IPA....Massive bitter grapefruit flavor, some almost sweet contrast as well. What I really can not get over, having not had this for some time, is how smooth it is. By far the easiest drinking double IPA around. As such, it’s Harpoon’s deadliest beer.

12 oz bottle This was tasted during Thanksgiving 2012. This is an amazing ale. The color is a clear golden color. The ale had a small head that dissipated. The IPA had a powerful bitterness balanced by a sweet malt backbone. This is truly an excellent ale the bitterness is so balanced. The cabonation is average an the medium body ale had a wonderful finish with bitterness that was experienced in the upper mouth.

Bottle says best by 10-15-12 so I’m a bit late on this guy. Malty and a bit spicy aroma. Fruity, lightly mango and some peach. Perfect look for style, hazy amber gold. Good lacing on a pillowy beige head that settles. For such an enormous beer this is ver y drinkable, bitterness is there throughout, but it displays slight pine amongst juicy apricot and peach. Great imperial iPa. Big and juicy.
