Slightly syrupy but imposing upon the palate. Decent mouthfeel but the brew itself feels rough around the edges and doesn’t seem to come together all that well. I liked it for sure, but it was missing that extra intangible which takes it to the next level. That being said, it is still a pretty good beer, although the the style brings high expectations. I did enjoy my time with it and will probably end up drinking it again. I would like to try the rest in this series.

Cloudy orange, loose ring of foam. smells like honey and brown sugar mixed with grapefruity hops. Flavor is sweet at first, with a lot of honey and brown sugar again. Then a big hop bitternesscitrusy and slightly cedery. Pretty tasty. Thanks, Secret Santa!

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange/gold. The nose is very hoppy with hints of grass and grapefruit. The flavor is comparable. Hints of candy sweetness in the middle with a very bitter finish. Good stuff.

Big hoppy nose, pine resin, smells like its going to be sticky. Pours a slight golden blonde with a thin white head. Solid hop flavor, pine resin with an earthy bitterness and some hints of grapefruit peel, held up by a solid malt backbone, still hop forward but still has some body and maltiness.

Pours deep amber with white head, aroma is full of sweet hops. Taste is sweet citrus and bubblegum like hops with a strong sweet caramel malt profile that bitters fairly well. A bit too sweet for my liking, but a very decent IIPA.

Bottle on 10/27/2009. Clear copper body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet floral and resiny hop aroma. Sweet resiny hop flavor, some light floral notes on a pale malt background. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Little head, white, large bubbles. Some slight saggy lace. Clear orange/gold color. Nose is weird, grapey, fruity, faint caramel.Light bodied, tame carbonation, quick. Some grapey, honey light fruity flavors. Dry, quick almost vegetal finish, lightly medicinal, aspirine notes cabbage. Wow what a mess and dissapointment! IIPA?? No no! Fer shame. IIPA? Naw. 355 mL bottle. Hazy orange with a small, sticky head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is hoppy, leaning toward citrus, but also has more of a caramel presence than most IPAs. In the flavour, there are citrussy hops from start to finish, but at no point is it "overly" hoppy. Solid malt backbone. Creamy mouthfeel. Not spectacular, but very solid.
