4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours glowing ruddy copper with a foamy 3 finger off-white/beige head. Damn. Smells like barley wine. Lots of roast caramel and a good dose of resin hop. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Then the flavor kicks in - and the first burst seems chocolate. Thereís malt roast. Thereís an awful lot of hop. Still going with resin. The head is going clingy ringy, and an earthy note pops up. Really smooth for a red. And the hop just keeps going on and on. Iíd say the heat isnít significant - just suggestive. A really good beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy biiter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a good complex beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The pour is amber in color with a sturdy off-white head perched on top. Mild lacing on the glass.
S: Not too sweet, but a nice bready malt base for the aroma along with a good citrus hop note. Smells like a standard American pale more than anything.
T: The citrus and somewhat piney hops are front and center upon taking the first sip. The mildly bready and otherwise caramel malts come through underneath.
M: Medium bodied beer with ample carbonation and a crisp finish.
D: I really had no idea until after the fact that this beer has an ABV of 9.2%. Really easy drinking and no alcohol presence at all.

A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. A very classy c-hops aroma, pinhey and resinous. In mouth, loads of malts, hops, very oily, smooth and enticing. On tap at ChurchKey DC, Feb. 26 2010.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep amber-red pour. The nose is fairly piny with a soft toasted malt character. PIne and a little bit of grapefruit over a nice clean malt base. A little bit of caramel but itís actually nicely dry - nice balance of clean malt and fresh piny hoppiness. Lingering resin on the finish along with a touch of something like vanilla. It is well-balanced and quite tasty - my favourite of this Leviathan series.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reddish pour with a nice sized off white head. Resinous hops jump out of the glass and take hold. A bit of fresh rosemary and light caramel malt in the nose as well. Flavor has much more caramel malt than the nose would have indicated. But the finish is loaded with some nice bitter and spicy hops. Nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big hops and lots of malt. A treat for hopheads in bitterness, without the frontal assault of a double IPA. Malted away for drinkability, the third of a litre was ust about right.
