3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle ( 12oz ). Clear gold with a HUGE fizzy white head. Fairly dry, somewhat sweet fruity/yeasty aroma, moderate alcohol, but seems less than 9% ... tastes pretty much like a tripel: sweet candy malt, strong yeast, fairly strong alcohol, nicely balanced, not too sweet. Light, crisp, lively mouthfeel, quick-finishing with a slightly dry spicy linger. Damned good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle [12oz]. Pours a clear, bubbly gold with a large fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty along with herbs and fruit, some alcohol, light sugary sweetness and bubblegum. Flavour of yeast, herbs, alcohol, honey, sugary sweetness again and some light bitterness. Quite carbonated. Medium bodied. It’s good but it’s too "big" for a Saison in my opinion, no need to go Imperial with that style. Interesting but ultimately not on style at all. O.K. for what it is though.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle. Poured a lighter yellow color with a huge sized white head. Not a gusher, but more of a creeper that came out of the bottle. Lots of small suspended particles. Aromas of spices, dried banana chips, yeast, and ’sweaty’. Tastes of the same.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
In short: An overly sweet sugary Belgian blonde ale. Gross.
How: Tap at Gingerman, New-York
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose shows a light wild yeast character marred by a strong (aggressive even) sweetness. Taste is a trainwreck. Grossly sweet, sweet pineapples, white sugar, soap, more sweetness, sweetened Brio™ soft drink, medicinal syrup, quite a bit of spices. Awful stuff. The wild yeast notes that I got from the nose is nowhere to be found in the taste. Will this atrocity teach me to stop buying everything that contains the word Saison? Probably not since I am as stubborn as a turkey. Which I personally think are more stubborn than mules.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at Pony Bar. Very pale golden-straw colour with a nice sticky white head. The nose is quite spicy with a bit of light lemon peel and a touch of sweetness. Light honey and a bit of light fruitiness (melon and bitter orange). It has a pretty pronounced cloviness as well. Although it seemed reasonably dry when it was first poured as it warms up it takes on a really rough sort of sweetness. Apricot and dirty fusels – how could it have gone so wrong, so fast?

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden yellow with a chicken soup look, medium white head quickly dissipating into a thin layer but rejuvenated by its own effervescence. Aroma of herbal hops, fruity tea and sweet sugary malt. Taste of herbal hops, lemon grass, salt and some malt. Fizzy explosive mouth feel is a bit oily and salty. Some warming on the aftertaste as well as some saltiness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A lightly hazed saison with a thick white head. A nice aroma of coriander, herbs, very perfumey, light bubble gum. In mouth, a bumped up saison, with sweet candy sugar, curacao, coriander, lingering hops bitterness, oily moutfheel, and warming alcohol. I agree with another rater, this is veering on triple territory. Bottle from Kappy’s Malden.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy golden pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is perfumey and heavily spiced, Coriander, Banana, clove, some light candi malt sweetness. Sweet sticky mouthfeel with some boozey prickle and warmth. Very sweet candi malt and some light banana and clove. A little overly sweet, detracts a bit from the nice, perfumey spiciness. But, overall drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light golden with a thin wispy white head. Notes of bubble gum, tropical fruit, banana, and clove. Full bodied with lively carbonation. A very tasty Belgian ale, but it seemed almost more like a tripel.
