4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle into pilsener glass, best before 4/15/2012. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a small 1 finger tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Good spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toffee, nuttiness, biscuit, chocolate, vanilla, toast, and light fruitiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity. Taste of caramel, chocolate, toffee, biscuit, nuttiness, toast, herbal, roast, and light dark fruits. Lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, herbal, toast, nuttiness, toffee, and light fruitiness. Nice balance and complexity of flavors; with no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a great Munich Dunkel! Nice flavor balance and robustness; and very smooth to drink. Really enjoyed this, and this might be my choice for an easily available dunkel in the future.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Quite dark beer, but lets some light through which is dark red. Smell is quite malty. Taste is quite round, and easy. There is some carbonation, but not too much to distract. It seems to be a bit sour beer, and I end up thinking earth aromas; mud and dirt. Perhaps there are come cooked vegetables as well, which in my case does not make much difference I’m not into this one. That said I must acknowledge this is still OK beer, and someone might find this good. Thanks to Paul D. for bringing this all the way US for me as farewell present.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bran flakes and walnut nose. Clear brown, medium tan head., little retention. Cola, charcoal, dark roasted barley malt flavor. Smoky finish. Decent offering of a style that is poorly executed by most American breweries.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber: Pours a clear brown with a thin tan head, nose has caramel and rich grains, starts and ends lightly sweet, subtle carbonation, medium bodied
Earlier Rating: 12/23/2001 Total Score: 3.7
Malty, too much hops for the style (but in my book it is a plus). I wish I bought more than one. 12-23-01 Well, I got my second one and that only shaved some points off. That'll teach it to be weak in the malts and not have more depth.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap in whole foods NYC. Pours a dark brown with a tan head and aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is sweet and toasty, of milk chocolate, roasted malt, and nuts with a creamy, smooth finish. Very drinkable and good tasting, nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a growler, very dark in color. Although dark, very drinkable and easy on the palate. Very slight hint of sweetness, which apparently is chocolate according to the bottle. Pleasant aroma too. Not blowing me away, but very solid - at the price something I would certainly enjoy purchasing again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cola bodied, decent head. Smells like a schwars, with a smooth roasted grain. The body is likewise, doughty, grainy, with a smooth roastyness. This one feels quite full-bodied. Easy-going, moderately flavorful, and balanced. Nut chocolate finish. A solid brew.
