On tap at Stags Head Harpoon tasting beer #3. Pours a dark brown with small dispersing head. taste is of bitter dark chocolate, roast malt, light nuttiness, some sour cream oddly, and a tad of char. not too bad kinda too light body for me.

this is so weak for a dark beer. come on. i had like 4 beers before this and they were all weaksauce at the end. puhlease. smells alright, etc, looks alright, but it really needs to be higher in ibu and creamier in mouthfeel (less freakishly carbonated)... meeeehhh.

Draught at their Logan Airport Taproom. Roasty, more like a scwarz or stout aroma. Same with the flavor. Shows chocolate and some coffee. Nice mouthfeel. Minerally, though, and slightly watery. Ok.

Aroma: The aroma is dark roast with some cherry/fruit notes.
Appearance: It pours a nice dark brown color with a beige head.
Flavor: Taste is malty - roasted and fruity, with a light hop feel.
Palate: The body is medium, with a somewhat creamy feel to it.
Overall Impression:
Overall, I was actually pretty surprised at how much I liked this one. Really, this one was enjoyable. It was flavorful and relatively enjoyable. Pretty good stuff.

Dark brown pour deep reddish hue off white head .... light lacing ... roasted malty aroma .... taste of dark roasted and sweet caramel malts with light chocolate and nut ...... light bitter hop finish .... not a bad brew at all

12 oz. Opaque chocolate with a lasting sponge of bubbles above. Moderate nose of char, espresso and soured chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, sour cream, caramel, toasted walnut and char. Medium-heavy body is watery, smoothly carbonated and sweetish. By far the best beer of the 8 I have sampled from this brewery to date.

Nice dark almost black pour in the glass. Nose and taste is balanced caramel malts and light hop bitterness. Rated 6/8/02

Bottle. Split with BALAZS the HUN. Roasty and a bit chalky... chocolate and burn malts. Good, nothing crazy but lots of flavor for a dunkel... borders on a really tasty schwartz. 3.25
