Scubatrip (310), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Oct 17, 2007 From the bottle, pours a clear, dark crimson, foamy off-white head and nice lacing. Very malty aroma, not really anything else. Taste is also very malty, though I wouldn’t call it full of flavor. Taste trails off at the end, less than wonderful. Thin but not watery, this is ok.
RichJ7 (859), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 8, 2008 Reddish orange pour with a small beige head. Malty nose with a touch of caramel and wood. Sweet, malty and pretty true to style. Mildly bitter finish. Not bad. Ungstrup (10853), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 7, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A deep red beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with quite strong notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of straw. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and straw, leading to a slightly bitter finish. bigrond (847), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 21, 2008 this was a very good octoberfest. Had it just reently at an international beerfest. Not sure why this domestic beer was even there but I’m glad it was. very enjoyable. DWestrick (166), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 27, 2008 Bottle...pours amber - loved the malt flavor and not too bitter - definitely taste a caramel/chocolate flavor. This one is good...definitely could drink a few more in one setting. I bet it’s tasty on tap mrw1zard (48), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Feb 19, 2008 I was expecting a lot more to this and although I didn’t receive my expectations, this didn’t disappoint either. Nice color, a first tasting of caramel and hops, seems to lose interest the more you drink it. Probably not my favorite choice for an octoberfest session.
