COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Several malts, including Munich and chocolate, deliver the malty character. The delicate hop aroma is not overpowering and the Willamette hops provide a gentle bitterness which balance well with the residual sweetness.

Pours a nice amber color and has a wonderful malty sweet aroma. The balance between bitter and sweet is just right to make this a very enjoyable easy drinking beer. As it warms you get the real good caramel and spices flavors more prominately.

from Mondial de la Bière 2012, Strasbourg - clear and bright reddish-amber beer with a persistent pale beige foam; aroma of chewy malts and red fruits marmalade; low carbonation and chewy palate; moderate bitterness and more notes of red fruits in the finish - synthetic and unkind

Had this sitting around for awhile in the fridge....figured it was time to to review....a good way to say "I am ready for another"! Bottle pour, hazy amber, tan head stayed through the finish. Very prominent sweet fruit aromas, plum, cherry and malty sugars. Just a tad on the hoppy side, a bit more than most Oktoberfest brews, but finishes with a sweet malty goodness, with minimal carbonation. Goes down smooth, but a bit sticky, most likely from the higher sugar content. A fairly good brew, but not near the level of some other Oktoberfests I have rated in the past.

Dark amber with a persistent white head and light lace. Taste is watered down ocktoberfest - it has some caramel malt with a fair amount of bittering, but all is at arm’s length, as though the flavor has been diluted. I expect a lot more from this style - I preceded it with a Belhaven Lager, which should have been a good set-up; it wasn’t. Very average.

Very nicely balanced. Malty aroma with light head. Dark amber color. In my opinion, it had a nice balance of hop and malt. I’d still rather have a Hofbrau or Spaten.

Bottle. Light copper with cream dissipating head. Smells like sourdough and brown sugar and raisin. Had a bourbon like character- sweet and smith with a kick.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

A: Deep copper, slightly red/orange and very clear. 1.5 finger foam head dissipates to a thick lacing and foamy coating on the top.

S: Caramel, malt, and bread with slight hoppy smell.

T: Caramel foretaste with malt and bread hints in the middle, finishes slightly hoppy.

M: Medium carbonation, medium bodied, goes down easy.

O: Decent octoberfest, rather crisp. One of my favorites of the year.

A reddish brown / amber on the pour with a nice lasting tan head. Aroma and Taste of moderately toasted malt, barley, some nice yeast and breadiness with some slight fruity notes and light hops. A nice medium body with good carbonation. Finish is malty, yeast some breadiness, a slight note of dark fruit with a nice moderate hops and lightly lingering nutty ending. Overall a nice drinkable Oktoberfest.
