3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Once again Harpoon put out a beer that I can say I like. This is a beer that the unknowledgable beer drinker as well as the beer afficianado could drink together. A simple traditional pilsner with obvious flavor that sets it apart from the mass produced pilsners.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Out of retirement and back with a Bohemian vengeance. Just finished my last one of these 12oz bottles. Probably had a dozen over the summer. They sure nailed this back into existence. Vibrant deep gold. Low, persistent lacing. Buttered wheat toast and hints of sweet lemon zest on nose plus a sprinkling of something green and herby. Taste follows smell with near perfect palate feel. Prolonged beefy and bitter middle tapers beautifully to a balanced clean, dry finish. A stunner of a return. I sure hope it’s this good next year. A note on pilsner in CT: NO LOVE. The CT distributor sold off their large remaining portion of this beer out of state cause they couldn’t sell it here. Get over the cult beers, Connecticut, and drink some classic works of art. Congrats, Harpoon, but please bring back your perfect little Belgian-style pale.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A beer that isn’t produced anymore, but was actually quite enjoyable. Recently found an orphaned 6-pack at Kappy’s in Medford. Pale straw color with slight head. Crisp taste of malt on first tasting. Smooth aftertaste with only a hint of hoppiness. Wish Harpoon would re-release this so I could get a better batch to try.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A buddy of mine dropped one of these off for me and said he found it in his closet...and didnt know where it came from, or how long it had been there...Hehe. Clear pale gold. Crisp clean malt nose. Small white head. Sweet at first, quick, light bodied, clean dry lightly hopped finish. Nothing special, perhaps thats why it isnt produced anymore.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bright yellow/gold. Nice and hoppy with high carbonation. I agree with Volgon, this is a good first craft brew to have your Bud friends try.

It’s OK for a pilsener. Would be good for introducing a Bud drinker to real beer

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice bubbly head out of the bottle & throughout the pint, a bright golden color, not much of anything in particular in the aroma, very clean & crisp, refreshing, nice balance, very nice pilsener

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Appearance very clear, bubbly, light amber, fair quick-dying head, nice lacing. Aroma definitely on the weak side, but has some nice hops, sweet malt. Flavor a little more pronounced, but nothing special; decent maltiness, light grain flavor, little hops, with an extremely short finish that leaves no aftertaste. Body perhaps a little fuller than the average pils. Drinkable, but doesn’t do anything to convince me that Harpoon is better than middle-of-the-road.
