3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (3823) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Reviewed from notes.
Pours a copper color with a thin off-white head that falls to a collar quickly with just a bit of light lacing. The nose hits with some green apples and a bit of oak. Good lactic sourness and just a tad bit of acetic character. Light funk throughout, and then this picks up more heading into the flavor. Taste has some green apple and other soured fruits. Moderate sourness in the feel as well as a bit of oak and tannin. Certainly very interesting.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 17, 2011
In short: A leathery, funky, fruity and sour golden ale.
How: Tap at Extreme Beer Fest 2011
The look: Cloudy dark golden topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose has a nice leathery funky character. Taste has ripe fruits, sour grapes, leather, caramel, some funk, some tannins, a little woody spicy edge. This was my last rating of the festival. And to tell you the truth, at this point I thought the festival staff were just not giving a very good service anymore. I mean, hey dude, what part of “shcan I havge ge Harshpoon Rosgoney Sholra shplease” don’t you understand?
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rciesla (5498) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2011
Draft at EBF. Pours a hazy golden raspberry body with a white head and light retention. Aromatically sour cherries and leather like tones. Mildly tart not very acidic, which is fine by me. Tannic wood tones, and a nice brett character to dry this out. I enjoyed it.

Sample at EBF 2011.
Aroma : Quite lactic and a bit tannic. Some grapes.
Taste : Tannic and sour red grapes. Very tannic finish. Quite dry.
Overall : Interesting but too tannic and lactic for me.

Pouring at the Night of the Barrels at EBF. Pours a hazed brown with a thin white head. Soft brett and toast. Spicy brett and long tannins. More spicy brett on the finish. Surprisingly good.

Sampled from the tap at the NotB. Poured a hazy gold with a light brown hue and a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma had tart red fruits with some sweet grain backing and some barrel and funk in the background. Flavor started with light grains quickly becoming tart with light fruits and a bit of barrel in the finish.
