2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 obxdude10 (1883) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 5, 2011This is certainly not the best example of the kolsch style. It pours a bright and light golden color with a decent-sized and layered head. There is minimal lacing around the glass, though. I didn’t mind much complexity to the nose, as the beer didn’t offer all that much character. I got a little fruit, a slight hint of hops, bread and yeast. The body is fairly light and the flavors don’t offer a whole lot of depth. Up front, the flavors are rather bland, but the body turns fruity and bready toward the finish. I taste some lemon, grass, light hops, bread, yeast, parsley and banana. This beer seems to lack any type of maltiness or depth. Unfortunately, thanks to PA laws, I purchased an entire case at the distributor. I fear that I will find myself struggling to finish it. Thankfully I have some neighbors that also appreciate the pursuit of fine craft beer. I will definitely be pawning some off on them, if for no other reason, to simply make this case disappear. I had some high hops for this beer, but I was simply disappointed.

On tap at West Deptford Canals.
Appearance: Clear golden body with a creamy white head that has great retention.
Aroma: Interesting aroma of citrus and sweet bubblegum.
Taste: Bubblegum is on the intro and throughout, a touch of floral hops, and a splash of citrus.
Palate: Medium bodied, medium carbonation.
Overall: This smells better than it tastes. Not a bad beer, but nothing I would buy.

Draught. Pours a clear and dark golden color with a smallish white head. Nose and taste are both nothing remarkable and very reminiscent of a standard lager. A little bit of skunk in there, but slightly crisp. OK, but not worth it.

A fairly nice American interpretation of a German Kolsch. Easyily drinkable, crisp, clean and one of the better offerings from Harpoon.
