dpjuart (549), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Straw yellow with a fizzy white head, quickly dissipating leaving decent lacing. Nose of corn and light malt with mild skunk and some bread. Light bread and biscuit malt, crisp and light, slight yeasty/fruit notes with moderate bitter, sweet doughy finish. Not bad, but not my favorite style.
Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 Didn’t realize I haven’t rated this beer till now. I must have had 50 of these this year. The last one I had was this afternoon and it hit the spot. I rarely drink right from the bottle but this went down pretty damn easy. I like the crispness of the beer and that it doesn’t try to be something that it’s not. It’s got a fresh whole grain sweetness to it and a nice dry finish. This could easily be a year round offering for Harpoon if they renamed it. So much better than UFO & IPA. They could also work on that head retention also. dlovell2 (102), Columbia, Maryland, USA Aug 16, 2008 Light golden color with white head. Bubbly. Wheat, yeast aroma. Crisp citrusy taste. blankboy (2562), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with an average size lasting fizzy white head. Aroma: yeah, I’m not loving this: Mild with grassy hops, grain, citrus and a touch vegetal -- it’s pretty ’meh’. Watery flavour of light grassy hops, grain and light malt. Light bitter finish. Light bodied. A lot of use of the words ’mild’ and ’light’ in this rating -- even for the style it’s a bit much, it’s not bad just very bland. MrBunn (826), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Unleashes a pointless gold body with a big and fluffy white head... looks a little soapy and aromas confirm this. Smells almost like a "fresh breeze" dryer sheet. Soapy aroma with some lemon and something chemical that would best be described as "spring breeze" Flavor is a tragic case of imitation of the nose: lemon and grass flavors are gobbled up by the spring cleaning-like flavors of pine sol and lemon cleaner with plenty of soap throughout (although it becomes even more pesky in the aftertaste). Most of this is cleaning the drains of my house right now. beerbill (1243), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a brilliant, clear gold with a thin-moderate soapy white head that faded to a thin ring before I took my first sip. There are lots of large carbonation bubbles clinging to the sides of the glass. Light, mostly indistinct aroma with a few whisps of lemon. The flavor is equally dull with very light malt and slight bitterness at the finish. Kolsch is an uninspiring style, and this beer is boring, even for a Kolsch.
