3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Only slightly cloudy! Pale yellow color. Good thick, tight-bubbled head--leaves good ring lace.
Rather mild smell; typical of most wheat ales--slight citrus, touch of soft nut. I would say this one is on the lighter wheat beers I’ve tried.
This is a dry beer...not a lot of wheat to it. Good spiciness--coriander, all spice, pepper. Rapidly ending finish, also dry. The body is smooth and the carbonation is above average.
This would be one of the wheats I prefer because I am not a big fan of strong wheaty flavors. I imagine those who prefer this style might rate this a little bit lower. No fatal flaws; it is easy to drink.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Pleasant citrus nose, not so appealing color from bottle (maybe it was the lighting). Simplistic hefeweizen with smooth drinking ability. Maybe not exemplary, but certainly tasty.

Bottle, enjoy by 08/15/13. Nose yeasty with light spritzes of lemonade, gives some Radler flashbacks. Ultra pale yellow body with an ephemeral white head, a touch hazy but not at all what I’d expect from a HW, certainly not from one with ’unfiltered’ right on the label. Full body needs more carbonation, lemon with a little vanilla but otherwise low on esters and phenols, but very rich in bready ’straight’ yeast character. Wow, seriously, I can’t shake the feeling of an ultra light pale lager with lemonade added.

Bottle from BevMo, decent hefeweizen, nothing too crazy, wheat beer that was easy to drink with a little lemon flavor

Hazy gold brew with a sorta musty aroma. The old book stored in a damp basement smell kind of made me wonder if I really wanted to taste it. I did and suprisingly the taste wasn’t too bad. Had a citris taste with some wheat grain notes. Far from the best hefeweizen but drinkable.

Shit tons of this over the years, and most recently a bottle at departmental picnic. About as good and as bland as most other American hefes out there, I suppose. Same cloudy gold pour you’d expect, appropriately carbonated and lively mouthfeel. Slight lemon verbena in there to complement the sharp yeast, a bit more bracing than some if I’m feeling charitable.
