COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
UFO (Un-Filtered Offering) Hefeweizen is an American style un-filtered wheat beer. Traditionally served with a lemon to complement the citrus taste yielded from the yeast.

Taste more like a watered down belgian than a wheat. Could also be described as an esterfied miller high life. The flavor is just "off the target" and the palate is a bit gummy. The color is a bit dirtier than it should be and it sure is clear for an unfiltered offering. Inspite, of all its short comings, it really isn't TOO bad.

At the Brewery: Standard appearance for a Weizen, straw yellow and cloudy with a white foamy head. Has a sweet wheat malt aroma yet lacked the bready yeasty aroma I've grown accustomed to in this style. Body is medium with a slight crispness. Flavor is weak though and not a true weizen flavor. Lacked character and depth.

12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date that I can see. Poured out a cloudy, golden yellow color, with not much head. What little head there was soon faded to a rim of bubbles around the rim of the glass. Aromas of lactic smelling wheat malt, slight lemon aromas too. Tasted good, however. Nice & smooth. Not a bad summertime lawnmower beer.

Medium size rocky white head. Hazey (not near hazey enough) light gold color. Malty , corny nose. Med/thin body.Corny slightly fruity flavor. Finish is medium sweet and friggin pastey. Harpoon strikes again!

A great head builds up as you pour. The smell is typical wheat, slight banana, some malt. Goes down smooth but light. A nice summer refresher if you want something different.

Refreshing with a lemon on a hot sunny day, but not very interesting at all. Pale, boring. Slightly more tasty than water.

Tap. Kind of a nasty hefe. Very grainy palate which dominated the muted banana-clove offerings. A little bit creamy but still harsh in the finish. Cloudy-yellow, average head.

On tap, murky orange color with medium white head (served with a lemon). Mild wheat and yeast aroma. Citrus flavor, a little sweet, but all around is unbalanced, thin body, and unpleasant dry finish. Not too big on this.

This beer poured a hazy light gold color and formed a huge bubbly white head that left trace lace as it subsided. An aroma of malt, hops, banana and cloves. A flavor of hops, some malt and citrus. A fairly light finish and another good session hefe, but not up there with the top ones.
