Imagine a pumpkin vine wound its way in a field of barley, and a brewer harvested it all to make a beer. Add Northwestern hops and a blend of spices, and youíve got UFO Pumpkin. The malt combination provides a smooth body and slightly sweet flavor, which balances perfectly with the earthy notes derived from the pure pumpkin. And like all of our UFO beers, UFO Pumpkin is unfiltered so all the wonderful flavors are right there in your glass. Cheers!

Sample at Hal & Alís during the Pumpkin Beer Tasting on 10/15/2013: Pours a hazy pale orange-copper color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of pumpkin and toasted malt. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet pumpkin spices and malt. The finish is mildly spicy with a pumpkin and biscuit malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bottle. Hazy orange, offwhite head. Aroma and taste are the usual pumpkin and spices, but more subdued and balanced than most pumpkin ales. Nothing special, but much more drinkable than expected.

The aroma is standard for a pumpkin beer, pumpkin, spices. The appearance is hazy orange, white head. The flavor is pumpkin spices, caramel malt, pumpkin. The finish is pumpkin spices. Medium in body. Ok.

If you like pumpkin beers you have to try this one. I had my first one on tap at the Deauville in Strathmere, NJ while honoring my brother with my niece on the 3rd anniversary of his passing. The beer is excellent in my opinion - has a very smooth and balanced character with a unique blend of pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. I like the fact that the appearance and weight is lighter than several other pumpkin beers. This is one that I will seek out every fall from here on out, which puts it on a short list of less than 25 beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a hazy orange body under a half inch of off-white head. Slightly sour aroma of toast and subtle spice. Flavors of apple, toast, squash, and malts. Medium carbonation & medium body. Not bad.

First pumpkin beer of the season. I could have had one in July but decided to wait until October. Anyways a relatively nice, smooth, easy to drink seasonal. Murky orange color. Decent amount of cinnamon and pumpkin spice in a good balance. Touch of sweetness.

Golden orange pour into the glass, with a wispy head that reduces to a thin ring of suds. The nose is of nutmeg first, with extraneous spices secondary, and pumpkin meat tertiary. Flavors are similar, with spices subtly integrated, very light pumpkin notes, with a dry spiced finish. The activity in the mouth comes from the spice integration, and makes for a pretty smooth pull, minus the semi-hollow palate and seltzer body. Not the most complex pumpkin brew, sure, but a nice attempt otherwise.

Finally a pumpkin beer I actually like. Itís clean and refreshing and doesnít hit you over the head with pumpkin and spices. Strangely a bit bitter upfront but nice finish. Golden yellowish orange appearance with a weak head.
