COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imagine a pumpkin vine wound its way in a field of barley, and a brewer harvested it all to make a beer. Add Northwestern hops and a blend of spices, and you’ve got UFO Pumpkin. The malt combination provides a smooth body and slightly sweet flavor, which balances perfectly with the earthy notes derived from the pure pumpkin. And like all of our UFO beers, UFO Pumpkin is unfiltered so all the wonderful flavors are right there in your glass. Cheers!

The aroma has some of that nice pumpkin and spice but also trashy lager. The appearance is slightly hazy orange gold with a smaller head. The taste is like the aroma with an astringent quality. The palate is smooth. Overall I like the concept but it didn’t work out all the way.

On draught at the Distillery, Savannah, GA USA. Pours a dense dark gd with a thick white head and fine-bubble lace. Moderate pumpkin spice aroma. Medium body. Dull semi-dry malty flavor with slightly coarse mouthfeel. No off flavors but not inspiring.

Blanchard’s, Allston sixer ($9): Pours a amberish color with a little bit of head. Aroma of cinnoman, nutmeg, and a whiff of beerishness. Basically, this is a somewhat uninteresting pumpkin ale. Kind of spicy. Easily sessionable if you can tolerate the taste of pumpkin beers. Kind of on light side of things.

pie spices and hops don’t play nice.

Pours a two finger cream head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Hazy amber/orange color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Spicy pumpkin nose, flavor is spice and tart pumpkin, dry finish. $1.99 for a 12oz bottle from Jake’s Market Springfield, Vt.

Pillowy off-white head, pours brown-orange. Nose is medium, apple pie and spice. NOt getting a lot of pumpkin, but I am getting nutmeg, cinnamon, apple & pear. Medium-bodied palate, again with orchard fruit & spices, fades a little on the back-palate. I don’t get any pumpkin?? I like it, I just think it should have been billed as simply a "fall" beer and not a "pumpkin" one.

12oz Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liquors - Wakefield, RI. Historically, Harpoon has had some issues with spiced beers, putting out bottles of farmer’s-market-hand-soap-water, particularly the Winter Warmer. They had cleaned up this issue, but I’m afraid this bottle of Cinnamon-Nutmeg-Allspice juice harkens a return to the old days. What do I taste? Oh not much, just a mouthful of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice. Beer? Nah. A faint glow of pumpkin, yeast, and hop resin beneath reminds me that this is indeed a bottle of beer I’m drinking. Blech.

Bottle. Pours a bronze tan color with thick head. Smells of nutmeg, spice and pumpkin. Taste is the same. Not a fan of these beers usually, but this is pretty good

Not much purely white head. Hazy orange in color. Very perfumy on the nose, cinnamon, spice, and everything nice. Coriander, with some honey notes as well. Looking at it, this beer is very flat. Mouthfeel isn’t too thin, finishes very much like a lager. One of the best pumkins out there.

Pours copper with a thin white head and some minimal chill haze. Smells of pumpkin pie spice, some honey undertones, pumpkin cookies. Tastes of pepper, tea, floral, fresh pumpkin, some tarte hints on the finish.
