Heathen (498), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 THOUGHTS: A really nice beer that I’ve passed by until I tried it at a party where it was the only beer among wine and liquor. A really nice summer beer that isn’t watered down.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a almost glowing, cloudy, medium pinkish orange with a small to average, white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was raspberry and wheat. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately acidic; while the finish was light to moderately sweet, heavily bitter and sour with an average duration. There was slightly sweet raspberry, wheat and a little yeast then a bunch of very tart raspberry. The light to medium body was dry with soft carbonation and a moderate to heavy astringent finish.
Beer_Hawk (694), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with a thin white head. Huge tart raspberry aroma with a faint wheat background. The flavor is overwhelmingly raspberry. Light body, lively carbonation, and tart to sour throughout. chrissy (81), Connecticut, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle: I like this one better than the original. Not a true hef by any means. Has a great raspberry flavor. Very enjoyable. caesar (2498), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 Bottle @ GBBF 08. Hazy orange color, raspberry nose. Sweet taste, slight sour. Artificial stuff. daknole (677), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2008 Tap at Piecasso in Stowe, VT. Pours a beautiful cloudy ruby color. Nice creamy head. Aroma is pure raspberries with malt and bread. Taste is tart raspberries, some grain and yeasty flavors. Ok beer here. Fin (2177), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 12, 2008 Bottle picked up at Westholme Londis Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed 10-08-08 Poured a light hazy pink with large head quite lovely raspberry aroma although it seemed maybe a little artificial I must confess to still being dragged in by it. Taste was simple, raspberry, little too sweet, some wheat uncomplicated and maybe not true to style but likeable nonetheless
