Sweet malty aroma with hints of nutmeg. Clear and dark brown. Complex flavors, very malty, definite cinnamon and nutmeg taste. Sweet finish.

Aroma is heavily spiced with some malt. Appearance is fairly translucent, with a small head. Taste was again spicy with some malt, reminding me more of a pumpkin ale. Palate was a little watery. Expect more punch from a winter warmer.

Bottle amber pour with pine scent being released upon opening. Cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg round off the aroma. Medium body with long finish.

I have enjoyed this wonderful winter ale around Christmas for the last 16 years. This is a nice annual treat. The cinnamon and nutmeg are subtle and this ale is well balanced. Think I will grab another 6-pack before this is gone from the shelf until next year.

Delicious and refreshing on a winter night, goes quite well with lamb or ham. Would buy again.

Very good spiced beer. Non confrontational and rich. Not surprisingly similar to the Sam winter lager.

12 oz bottle pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of malts and spices. Taste is the malts, grain and spice.

From the bottle: Amber with nice barely off white head. Smooth with a balanced blend of hops and malt. Relatively subtle spices are a mishmash but not offensive. Pleasant enough and light enough to have several.

Bottle to pint. Looks solid; a transparent orangish-brown with off-white lacing. Smells of cinnamon and nutmeg. Tastes like it smells with light hop notes. Average on the palate. Not bad.

Deep amber thin rimming head; light aroma of cinnamon and caramel; flava is sweet + rich in cinnamon, ginger, and sassafrass notes balanced with malt and hops; feel smooth and medium bodied; finishes dryish with some sticky sweetness hops come out here. Very enjoyable beer!
