Has a slightly spicy malty and nutty caramel aroma. Fruity malty slightly spicy nutmeg flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a swetish malty spicy finish with hints of nutmeg in the aftertaste. smcolw (389), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Harpoon Winter Warmer is a heavily spiced beer that is very thick and rich.
Smell--Heavy cinnamon, a little nutmeg, perhaps a touch of clove. The rest is all malt, no hop
Appearance--The color is light bronze/dark amber. The head was decent at the beginning, but went down dramatically within a minute. No staying power on the glass lace.
Taste--Malt up front; all spice in the finish and the aftertaste. Slight hop in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel--slightly oily, rich and thick
Drinkability--Excellent novelty beer, not one I’d repeatedly have. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 8, 2009 I was honestly expecting a bit more from this one, it was too thin, reeked of cinnamon. I turned down the sugar but perhaps should have taken it, decent winter amber though. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Had this one Christmas 07. Smelled of cinnamin and nutmeg, hops, and sweet malt. Tasted sweet, malty, with nice winter spices. The cinnamin and nutmeg were nice, not overpowering. Block (379), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Dark orange-brown pour with a white head. Spicy aroma maybe oregano, kind of pizza like. A lot of spice in the flavor and a lot of pumpkin and some cinnamon. Not what I expected. Medium body. Good. Headbanger (1601), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2009 12oz bottle 2/27/09 (Knightly Spirits)-Pours an amberish body with a big off white head which emits an aroma of malt, nutmeg, and slight cinnamon. Taste of the same with a little citrus thrown in and the nutmeg and cinnamon coming through on the back end. This medium bodied brew is fairly mild for a Winter but is nicely spiced. Decent tasting. altonbrownd (1967), Amsterdam, Netherlands
