2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Harpoon Winter Warmer pours a striking copper color with a small off white head, which bubbled away very quickly. Dominating aromas are cloves, vanilla and cinnamon. Blended together, it is honestly a bit medicinal. Lots of mixed flavors going on, mainly cinnamon and clove. Harpoon Winter Warmer is quite sweet, medium bodied and a little less than average carbonation.
Overall: Not terrible, but not great. The flavors are decent, but not something I could drink all the time. Glad I tried it though!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Deep nutty Amber with a thin white cap. Gingerbread and pseudo-pumpkin spice aroma with more spice than malt on the nose, and light cinnamon apple. Light and crisp body with cinnamon apple flavors and a little earthy caramalt, and a fair dose of holiday/pumpkin spice tones. Really meh.

Nice color and taste. The winter spices are well done; not over done as in many winter brews. Tasted on draft at Churchill Tavern, New York.

12oz bottle, from my local Kroger. Enjoy by 1/15/16. Clear brown red color. Thin off-white head. Leaves decent ridges of lace. Red / amber ale kind of aroma to it. Some caramel, more toasty malt though. More cinnamon and nutmeg though, all else is mild underneath that. Medium body. Kind of soft, lighter to moderate carbonation. Moderate sweet taste, very mild bitterness, some spicy edge. Alright winter ale. But pretty basic. Not much to it at all.

Bottle. Pours red with a half-inch head. Aromas of cinnamon and caramel. Flavors are caramel, spice, ginger and bread. Finishes with a bit of earthy hoppiness. Clean, fizzy mouthfeel. Not bad, but not exceptional.

Pours hazy blonde with a white head. Nose is sweet and slightly citrus and herbal. the flavor is fairly thin and leans toward light citrus and a touch of coriander. light carbonation not quite sure how this is considered a winter warmer

Draft at Fado in Philly. Top of a keg. Hazy red chestnut pour with a flux of choppy beige foam. Juicy and spicy red ale. Cinnamon. Blood oranges spiked with cloves. Nutmeg. Allspice. Not adventurous. Ultimately mediocre.

Traditional winter warmer, not too much different than the fall seasonals.

12 oz. bottle poured at my brotherís place in Methuen, MA. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head. Smells like cinnamon and nutmeg. Tastes about the same. Might be good at Christmas but iím not loving it in July. Drinkable though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from Signal Variety Plaistow, NH. Aroma is holiday spice--cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice. Appearance is crystal clear amber with minimal sparkle and 1 finger width off white fluffy head with only fair retention and minimal lacing. Taste is like the nose--mainly spice. Itís not so much a beer with hints of holiday spice but a holiday spice drink that qualifies as a beer. Palate is medium bodied, moderately thick with lively carbonation with a little bit of a zing at the tip of the tongue. Finish is mostly spice and short with hint of bitterness. This is an enjoyable holiday beer. No complexity and not terribly interesting but for a particular mood at a certain time of year it would fit the bill.
