3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MiP (12136) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2008 Bottle, 5.5% at GBBF08. Strange spicy aroma. Clear chestnut colour. Small tan head. Good sweet cookie flavour. Brunkage, whatever spice that is. Quite a lot of it, but I like brunkager and it is balanced OK by malt, alcohol and a tad of smoke. Hint of alcohol or hop bite in the finish, probably paint thinner, but I can live with that.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10935) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - DEC 20, 2001
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2009 Orangey-amber; Aroma shows orange, cinnamon, heavy nutmeg. Palate is again heavy on the nutmeg, but there is enough malt there to hold it up. Good, full body, spicy finish. Nothing spectacular, but a solid winter seasonal.
