Undated single bottle. Almost a drain pour, and a huge disappointment from Harpoon. Intense cloying cinnamon, destroys whatever else they were offering.

Bottle: Dark amber color with a short lived cream color head. Aroma was promising with Christmas spices prominent. The spices are the carrier of the beer, nutmeg is prominent, with a little cinnamon. Not much else in there though kind of a spiced water with a background of earthy hops….kind of blah in my opnion

Bottle. Pours dark red with a thin white head that doesn’t last very long. Has a bit of nutmeg or some other Christmas spice on the nose. Doesn’t taste like very much. Not much malt or hop action and only a faint cinnamon. Watery finish. Meh!

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark amber body with a small off white head that dissapates quickly with barely any lacing. The smell had cinnamon and nutmeg, some clove in the background. The taste was sweet yet becoming balanced to some light bitterness as it warms. The palate sat about a medium; slightly sessionable; slightly bitter aftertaste; clean, dry finish. Overall, a decent winter warmer, nothing spectacular but would have it again.

Sweet and spicy. Cinnamon and Nutmeg obviously. Hint of banana. In fact, it reminds me of banana nut bread. Not my style perse, but quite enjoyable as on a cold gloomy evening.

Cask at the very brewery. Pours a very murky brownish red, very thin beige head, patchy. Aroma is all spice, nutmeg, clove, ginger and cinnamon. Taste is quite sweet, very heavily spiced, a lot of nutmeg and a very slightly sour character from the spice. Smooth, a little thin, but with a great nutmeg and cinnamon aftertaste that lasts and lasts. Quite a delicious brew, and an interesting choice for cask.

I like the spice notes of this beer. It’s nothing amazing, but it’s certainly enjoyable.

This is a very nice winter warmer. Has a ton of spices, especially cinnamon. Medium bodied and rich.

Would buy again. Holds up nicely with steak and ribs. Spices are up front and pleasant.

Poured from bottle into pint glass: Pours red / amber with a thin tan head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove...lots of spices. Taste is malt and a hit in the face with a spiced sledgehammer. There is nothing subtle about this beer. Cloyingly sweet, over spiced, gross beer. Took a sip just for the tick. This is one of my least favorite beers from an otherwise pretty good brewery. They need a new winter seasonal.
