COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale pours golden with a persistent white head. Classic banana, light fruitiness, subtle spice and alcohol flavors derived from yeast are complimented with an abundance of noble hops which enhance the light fruity character and contribute a pleasant floral note. Divine Oculust is medium-light bodied and deceptively easy to drink for its strength. We’ve taken the delicious golden ale you know and love and meticulously aged it in french chardonnay oak barrels.

64 oz. growler picked up at the source and shipped to New England by Stine - many thanks! To oversized brandy snifter, it pours a clear tangerine orange with which a whitish-ringed head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of green cardamom, whole cloves, citrus zest, Belgian yeast, duct tape, pottery clay, Bible paper, seaweed, young oak, and poultry seeds. Tastes the same with the addition of LME, black limes, beach sand, sweat, banana peels, aged hops, and peppermint. Estery and insanely drinkable. I like that it was easy-going in terms of flavor, but I could have done with a more memorable barrel character.

Sample at the good ole Winterfest 2013. Carbonation is high and the sourness of the chardonnay plays well against the Belgian aspects.

Winterfest 2013.Good palate. Dry malt with floral hops and a flavor of white wine, but it is dry from the chardonnay barrel, and Divine Oculust is already a dry beer to begin with . Good beer.

Had on tap at Winterfest 2013. Has some sweet vinous scents with some barrel character. Taste is similar to a wine, decent.

On tap at Winterfest 2013. Cloudy yellow pour with some head. White wine, spicy, and floral in aroma and taste. Thanks to BVery for recommending this one.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at the brewery. Bright hazy yellow pour wih a nice spotty white head. The Chardonnay really jumps out in this. Super tasty. Light and easy drinking, full flavored. Loving this beer!
