COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Elevator Doppelbock is traditionally brewed using the decoction method and is lagered for two months. This beer is rich and malt driven, with characteristics of dark fruit and caramel supported by a light toastiness and just enough hop bitterness to balance. Elevator is hearty, yet clean and complex. It’s tempting to make this a daily ration of liquid bread… you know, to honor the monks.

Tap at brewery. Pours amber with foamy head. Bready aroma with caramel on the taste. Initial taste was bad, got better as I drank more.

Tap at the brewery. Crimson amber pour with a foamy head. Seems mild on the aroma but there is really good bread, dark fruit, and caramel on the taste. Solid brew.

Harriet One Year Anniversary Party, January 27, 2012, Blue Nile Restaurant. Dark brown and low carbonation. Red meat, caramel, and sugar. It has a rich and heavy palate. This is a very good doppelbock, maybe the best out of any Minnesota brewery.

Poured on tap is dark brownish red with off white head, aroma brings notes of slight raisin, dark fruits in there with very rich toffee, a slight mineral note with some grainy notes as well. Taste is a nice mix of caramel, toffee, some dark fruits going into a slightly bitter earth, finishing fairly sweet.

Draft at pig & fiddle. Some molasses sweetness. Really nice hop finish. Outstandingly enjoyable doppel.

Growler to glass. Aroma was chock full of malty goodness. Notes of caramel and some toastiness. Awesome dark amber pour with medium off white head. I was very impressed at how clean the beer looked. Medium bodied and has a nice sweet finish. I’m not a big Dopplebock fan, but this is pretty awesome. I’ve had it a few times and will definitely pick up some more.

Sampled at Winterfest 2012. Pour was dark amber red brown with a off white soapy head that fades. Aroma was malty little fruit and coffee. Taste was all of the above with the coffee really coming out in this brew. Palate was medium and slick with a dry finish. Decent brew, which I would really like to try again.

Sampled this at The Dabbler yesterday. Pours a clear dark brown. Thin white head. Aroma is nice and sweet. Flavor not much further away.
