3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I tell you what, itís a saucy looking minx this one. I poured this beer and then fought a half hour running battle with Mrs Jimthechap (domestic bliss, nothing serious) and even returning to it after that time it had a sexy molten marshmallow head on a clear golden body. Itís a looker and I wonít tell you its human equivalent because Mrs Jimthechap still hasnít settled down completely. The aroma is of typically golden Belgian ale malt with wafting aromas of warm bakery. It isnít the strongest aroma, but it is enjoyable in its subtlety. It has a thick body with golden sweetness strongly reminiscent of the style. Flavours of creamy orange citrus abound and nice twinges of gentle bitterness. Thereís a nice lingering juicy orange flavour on the finish. Somebody did something right brewing this.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma contains some lemon, something else, very subtle. Taste begins with an explosion of sweet syrupy dark fruitiness with a hint of spice, and finishes with a sort of musty woody maltiness. Interesting but not particularly enjoyable. The sweetness is just too cloying. Itís big and rough on the palate too, that 8% really shows. Probably wouldnít buy this again unless it was on special. The new labels are much nicer than the old ones though.

Draft at the source courtesyof staff, thank you! Clear golden color. Aroma of earthy and musty lemon and grapefruit. Taste is sweet, boozy citrus.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
explodes with aggressive alcohol with a bit of dark fruit and yeastiness around. to be honest itís a bit much, very rough. however itís also interesting enough and i enjoyed tasting it for sure.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ghastly, I donít know how else to describe this confused disaster. There is too much musty, not enough sweet, plastic banana , no head, but the worst thing to recap is a cloying mustiness aroma.

Really superb crisp beverage with a nice balance of wheat and malt that I really enjoyed. Teetered toward more malty than wheat for me but I enjoyed that. Nice amount of spice and flavour. Will have again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) Hazy golden amber with very little head. Not a lot of aroma - slightly metallic with some spices and hints of esters. Medium body with nice smooth carbonation. Flavour starts somewhat sweet caramel, moving quickly to a more aggressive taste profile of spice, alcohol and a somewhat harsh metallic hoppy bitterness. Overall an interesting stronger ale, but a bit unsubtle and unbalanced.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden amber with minimal carbonation and a light white head. Nice fruity aroma, not overpowering as some tripelís can be. Mild bitter after taste, quite fruity and without the occasional knock out sensation of alcohol. A little empty, but overall pretty good.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle poured to glass. Nice looking head that disappeared quickly leaving an appealing sud like white wisp. Aroma is complex, malt, raisins and that typical Harringtons thing they have- secret recipe? Taste is like a watered down barley wine, strong residual sweetness and alcohol presence but minimal yeast flavour as I expected from a Belgian beer, yet expected from this brewery. If I was at a bar that had this beer, chances are I would go for something better. That being said, not bad at all Harringtons! Probably my favourite of yours so far.
