kempicus (146), Wellington, New Zealand Mar 28, 2008 Scotch ales are my current ’flavour of the moment’ so given the ratings on this beer i was pretty excited about what was in store for me.....boy was i disappointed! Poured a dark muddy brown with a quickly disappearing ’coca-cola’ head, thin palate, slightly smokey malt palate, prickly carbonation and huge diacetyl on the nose. Damn i wish I’d bought the renaissance stonecutter!
