Strong dark ale, full flavoured brew with a hint of spiciness. Smooth roast malt flavour balanced well with hops.

500ml bottle. Colour is identical to Coca-Cola, with a fairly dense light brown head. Sweet molasses aroma, with notes from the bourbon coming through. Toasty flavours with an initial sweetness, but a bit watery. You expect a richer flavour from a dark beer like this. Satisfying slight bitterness at the end. Not bad.

I was hoping this was going to be nice, but it was insipid and watery. Nothing really going for it.

I rate it better than ‘meh’ as it really isn’t very offensive, it’d be ok to share with a friend and might spur you forward to try other dark beers, the porters, stouts etc.

(Plastic handbottle from the brewery 130 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. Medium body, roasted - lightly burned - malt accents and a somewhat burning alcohol in the finish. Not really a Dunkler Bock, but way too dark to be your typical Malt Liquor. 260108
