TheGrandMaster (1526), Auckland, New Zealand May 15, 2008 Pours a carbonated and slightly hazy pale amber with a off white frothy head. A strong hopy aroma with sweet fruit and toffee malt. A hoppy palate - bitter and dry - with a burnished malt flavour. Just a little cloyingly sweet in the finish. sunevdj (1511), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Apr 8, 2008 Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Smells a bit of metals. Bitter with some caramel aromas. Hops aromas of resin. Tiny hint of diacetyl. Light alcohol notes. Medium bodied. Lively carbonated. Long bitter finish. Seems a bit more like an Irish Red Ale with American hops - which is good.. RichardGretton (2748), Leicestershire, England Apr 6, 2008 Bottle@Whisky Bar & Cafe, Oamaru, New Zealand. Amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly hopped and the flavour is well hopped and toffee with a dry finish. Overall a reasonable bitter beer. beerledgend (808), Meadowbank Auckland, New Zealand Mar 3, 2008 Big grassy hop aroma. Bright orange in colour with off white head. Big hop mouthfeel but very short. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 10, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Clear, warm amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. A little aroma hops in the nose. Medium body with rich caramel notes and a dry and fairly hoppy finish. Close enough to style, I just could have hoped for some better and more aromatic hops that didn’t leave this brutal a bitterness. 300108
