So after reading all the comments on this post i grabbed three bottles, one for me and two for a mate that did me a favour....he loves lagers....anyway i’ve gotta say after drinking it i don’t get what the hype is about i found it to be a cross between a high strength Steinlager and a smooth version of a ’super skol’. I dunno maybe there was an ’obvious’ capping issue with it that i’m not aware of but now i’m wondering....do i give the two bottles to my mate and risk never getting a favour again....i did love the non-PC label though….Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, brilliant!

Pours a clear, very flat looking yellow. Aroma is straw-like, with some candy sweetness. Hints of citrus and vanilla. Very flat mouthfeel. Flavours are quite bready, with a sweet candy malt. I’m not really sure what to think... Lots of caramel, and the alcohol is very obvious. I have trouble enjoying this one. Not really my thing.

Purchased 01.08.09 at New World Frankton, NZ, 500ml bottle. Pours hazy gold, white head. Aroma is kiwi, tangerine. Flavor is hoppy and sweet, bitter and syrupy. I can taste the alcohol, it warms a bit. Could be better blended but this is the best malt liquor I’ve ever had.

Pours cloudy golden with white mostly diminishing head. Sweet malty aromas, some spice & fruit as well. A strong flavoured lager, sweet but balanced with some bitter hops. Don’t know if I’d call this a malt liquor!

Bottle, pours a clear and dark gold with a white creamy head. A light aroma of sweet malt, a little bready. A full mouthfeel, very bitter on the palate, with a creamy sweet malt flavour. The strong alcohol presence ("crude" as Papsoe writes) makes it a difficult swallow and I’m suprised this comes in a 500ml bottle. Different though, I’ll give them that.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear golden with a small, rough head. Sweet aroma of malt and alcohol. Quite full-bodied with plenty of sweet malt and brewing syrup. The finish is clean, crude alcohol. Drinkable though. 210208

Clear and slightly orange/golden. White short head. Hops in both aroma and taste. Aftertaste that really warms up and fills the mouth.

Tasted as Bennetts Belgium (assuming its the same). Bright clear, golden amber. Fair lacy head. Light faint malt sweet aromas. Strong dominant flavours up front. Nicely sweet, butterscotch but apart from that I’m struggling to describe. decent bitterness in the finish. Could be dangerous.....
