Real lack of flavour. If you wanting to get smashed quickly then this could be the beer for you.

Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. Aroma has caramelly malts and some grassy/herbal hops. Clear, golden coloured beer with a white head. The taste has malty sweetness, is somewhat grassy and has a light bitter finish.

rather sweet malt base as well as sweet, mildly bitter hops but i didn’t get too much other flavour from this. might have been some subtle ripe citrus but otherwise not too interesting flavour wise. okay.

ALLOVATE (2912) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 5, 2012
Orange amber with an oily transparency and intermittent fine carbonation. Light, whispy head that lingers as but a ring of white on the meniscus. Strong cereal and barnyardy malt in the aroma with evident, almost vinous alcohol spice. Dominant sweet malt palate, sticky and and gammy as it warms. Light spice in back, grainy, sweet granola-esque swallow. DMS is evident, but not haunting. Body is medium to light with light carbonation and a foamy mouthfeel. Not much in the way of hop definition. Not Eurolagerish but borderline. Bland overall. (33cL, BB 11/10/12, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Bottle. Pours gold with white head. Aroma has hints of hop but unfortunately signs of vegitable. Nice malt backbone, subtle grain with a somewhat hint of vegitable. Light body, high carbonation. Is ok.

Bottle thanks to crusianbeer. Poured gold with a white head. Aroma was sweet, grain, and slight hop. Flavor was the same plus medium body and medium carbonation.

Pours amber with a small head. Nose shows caramel and spicy resinous hops. Pretty malty, almost melanoidin-like. Similar malty flavours, more caramel and nutty characters. Finishes with a plain bitterness. Pretty syrupy, thick body, a bit off-putting.

500ml bottle. Aroma: light fruity & pine hoppy, nice honey, caramel malty. Appearance: wonderful shimmering rich golden hue with a medium sized mostly diminishing white foamy head and good delicate lacing. Taste: Very sweet bordering on cloying, finishes with a bit of bitterness Palate: medium to full body more than expected, slightly syrupy sticky texture, very soft carbonation, long dry finish. Overall: nice but the sweetness and syrupy texture make it best enjoyed in doses smaller than 500ml.
