2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Clear pale gold with a short head, hard to get more than a half centimeter from it, which is sadly typical of New Zealand beer. Has a *very* faint aroma but what’s there isn’t anything to enjoy: DMS gives it a radish / turnip / carrot note, there’s notes of chipped concrete, some lemon and lime gummy candies and a faint leafy green arugula note. Light body is thin and watery, carbonation is low, there’s little froth and no heft to the malt. Very plain, under-developed Pilsner with fermentation problems.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from a Harringtons mix 6 pack, best by stamped 10 Dec. 2014, served in a wine goblet.
Pours very clear, light amber with a decent off-white head.
Aroma: mainly earthy/floral hops; quite hoppy even for style.
Flavor: nearly as hoppy than the aroma suggests, but only mildly bitter. Lasting hoppy aftertaste.
Feel: Medium body with medium, crisp carbonation and a dry finish.
O: hoppy, NZ style pilsner. Recommended.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2013 I have to agree with ’jimthechap’ on this one, it is also one of the best pilsners I have tasted in recent times. I really enjoyed this pilsner. It blows Speights triple hop, and Stokes McCashin pilsner clear out of the water, (and pilsner Urquell for that matter!). It’s not a complex pilsner, but has crisp clear notes of saaz hops to deliver that slightly bitter and distinct hop flavour, with a nice light and pale colour. Reference to the top fermented Bohemian style rocks. The alcohol content is spot on at 5.0 % alc./vol, and overall hats off to John and the Harrington boys. Splendid chaps, bloody good drop. Great new label too on 330ml bottle I might add.

Agree with Lisagirl below. It does have a nice Saaz type of hoppiness to it, but that is stitting on a rather ordinary lager base. The fact that it is organic made me feel magnanimous about my conribution to a pesticide-free land, lower yields on agricaulture and higher prices on produce.

Pale blonde with fluffy white head and honey malt/ clean hops on the nose. Fairly sweet with clean bitterness, but still a touch thin.
