kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Aug 13, 2008 Draught at the Great Taste of the Midwest 2008. Sweet resinous hops aroma. Amber off white head, floral. Nice lingering bitterness.
gws57 (1003), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jun 5, 2007 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Orland Park, Illinois. Clear, dark red pour with an off-white head, a wonderfully hoppy, floral nose. Pronounced hoppiness thorughout, nice and dry with some red grape fruitiness. Clean and excellent. DrnkMcDermott (1597), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Oct 14, 2005 Draft sampler. There are some hops at work here. A bit pine, grapefruit and even peach (the impression left over from the peach beer.). Malts are a little lacking for what the color suggests, but it does play nice and finish with a decent pale ale flourish. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 26, 2005 Totally transparent brass with a foamy and short white head. Honey soaked hops lead the aroma, trailed with pine resin, lemon grass, and a touch of rye malts. First quaff is like swallowing a gust of air as a direct result from all of the fizzy effervescence. After I work my way past the palate, we’re left with bitter grass and pine. No malt sweetening to encounter. Bitterness is a little out-of-touch with the rest of the beer, leading to questions on how much hops extract might have been used.
