dm9831 (706), Monee, USA Oct 18, 2008 orange color, slight head, some lacing. malty mustiness in the nose. musty, earthy malt in the flavor, wet cardboard, with a hint of floral sweetness. medium bodied, bitter-sweet finish. quite refreshing. DrnkMcDermott (1597), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Oct 14, 2005 Draft Sampler. Surprisingly cloudy for the style. The bartender told me the beer was not filtered. Even so, it looks like I got the bottom of a cask. Smell was off, then it came in with a bit of nice caramelly malt. Taste is a but toasty, actually pretty pleasant, with a nice residual bitterness on the tongue. A decent beer marked off a bit by its presentation. Milky, caramel brown and looking an awful lot like diarrhea. By far the cloudiest Oktoberfest known to the world. A pillowy tan cotton fluffed head rides on top. Brown sugared biscuits and brown bread come out aromatically with caramel and special B like sweetness. A touch of nutmeg is sprinkled on vanilla toffee bark. Nutty flavor cumbrances and diffusing toffee nougats across the palate. Keeling flavor hop addition is a might too acidic, but the doughy, chocolate pumpernickel helps to work it out. Bran stirred with nutella, and then liquefied to create a gummy gap, crosses between the tongue and palate. Cloves and pepper are ever distant, but they spruce up the toffee character somewhat. It seems nearly impossible that a lager yeast was used here. Brown sugar and dates meet with the camel coursing through oxidized hazelnuts for the finish.

September 2005.
Murky orangish brown in appearance. Our server says that it’s been filtered twice, so there’s some sort of elemental bullshit going on here but I don’t know the source. Sweet caramel and toasted malt aroma balanced by hazelnuts and dusty potato bread. Flavor confirms style, and it’s a much appreciated change from the rest of Harrisons’ line-up. A hoppier Oktoberfest rendition with a bitterness trait to the roasted pecans and singed hazelnuts. A little searing on the finish, but otherwise it’s fairly decent. Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Oct 26, 2004 Updated: Jul 5, 2005There isn’t much to distinguish this from a pale lager, other than the orange color and fizzy off-white head. Medium bodied with little carbonation, this has some sweet malty tastes but also seemed a bit watery. Some mild hopping catches you in the finish.

Harrisons Brewing Company, Orland Park, IL
