2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest 2010. Pale straw with slight white head. Strangely set up this beer, light and crisp yes and there is a lemony hop note, but quite perfumed, but the parts donít seem to come together well, it seems quite unbalanced. Not for me.

Cask (GBBF2011, Wed)
Lovely hoppy fruity golden ale, with a pleasant bitterness. Palate smooth and sweet. When I got to it, it was a little warmed up, I presume itís a great refresher at a cool cellar temperatures.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle (bottle conditioned by Leek Brewery) from The Original Farmers Market Shop, Bakewell. The main problem with this beer was the ludicrous level of carbonation, which made it very difficult to actually get the stuff into a glass. Once that was achieved, a pretty decent beer emerged. Very pale yellow, rather lager-looking with a massive white head. Lemony aroma with candy-fruit estery yeast touches. Almost has a Belgian feel to the nose. Citrus, again mainly lemon, dominates the palate. Clean and fresh mouthfeel. It is a bit fizzy but the prickle on the tongue is pleasing rather than off-putting. Overall, a pleasant and refreshing beer. Iím sure it would be a good thirst quencher if you could wait the ten minutes it took to pour.

A Mes rate:
Gravicask at the Pembury Tavern. Straight forward blonde looks. Dusty tobacco nose with a light sweetness. Fairly bland in the mouth and along the same lines as the aroma but with a nice spritzy hop character.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask gravity, Rugby 09. Dusty piss looks neither clear nor hazy. Well-chewed dog toy aroma with soapy coriander. More rubber in the mouth joined by mealy wheat, squashy orange, coriander, OK bittering hop. Sweetener aftertaste. Witbier gone wrong edging towards the sink....
