On tap at the brewpub 8/26/09. Chocolate brown colour with a mostly lasting creamy and frothy tan head. Piny, grapefruit, earthy, and woody aroma with chocolate notes. Bready and faint chocolate flavours with a classic c-hop finish of grapefruit, piny, and woody bitterness. Medium bodied, nicely quaffable mouthfeel. Might be my favourite yet from H&T (at least thatís what my old notes say because Iím pretty sure this has been overtaken!)

Deep brown-black pour. The aroma is loaded with pine and a lot of resin. There is a little bit of lightly oxidized malt as well. Rich and hoppy. The body is fairly light along with a heavy bit of tar on the back. A little bit of almost licorice character. The aroma of oxidation is a little bit more pronounced than Iíd like, but itís still a solid beer.

A dark hazy brown ale with a thin off white head. A superb aroma of C-hops, grapefruits, light caramel, pungeant and fragrant. In mouth, an intense hop wallop, with pink grapefruits, light caramel. An intense and pungeant ale, rich and sharp. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 12 2009.

Tasted very young - day before it went on tap. Choco malt aroma, nice colour, head persistent. Taste dry and bitter, with obvious need for aging - if sales here allow it to age. Come back in 2 weeks, probably ass 2-3 pts. Needs to acquire body and lose rough hop edge, then it will satisfy.

On tap at the Brewpub. Very dark to black appearance with an off white lace thats clings the glass. Slightly roasted, chocolate aroma with malt. Refreshing texture and different than expected.Clean bitterness. Hoppy that gives it a kick. Never thought I would say this but I would like a bit of sweetness in this beer, not to much but just a little. Still a very nice enjoyable beer.
