oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Aug 21, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008 (Hartland’s Farmhouse Cider). Golden colour, no head. Aroma is blue cheese, rotten apples, some earth. Flavour is bluecheese, mild notes of rotten apples as well as some green apples and vanilla. Quite nicely balanced. Miksu (1357), Jyväskylä, Finland Feb 24, 2008 Cask at Black Door, Helsinki. Sold as Hartland’s Farmhouse Cider, I’m not absolutely sure if this is the medium version but at least the taste is fairly dry. Hazy yellow color. Ripe apple and apple skin aroma. Juicy but dry and musty apple flavor with some green and woody notes as well as bitter fruitiness. Virtually no carbonation, slightly astringent. Comments: Rather sharp and tannic, but mostly a texture drink, not very complex. A bit ordinary compared to their marvellous perry.
hughie (2415), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 24, 2007 Cask at Peterborough BF ’07. Cloudy pale gold. Sweet fruit aroma. taste begins sweet but the finish is sharp and astringent. After a bit this stuff affects your vision.
