My 300th Finnish rating. Dark nut brown color, no head. Juniper, caramel, wood, smokey and nutty aroma. Juniper and wood in the flavor, drier than Pyhä Urho’s sahti. Very standard stylish sahti. Nice warming finish. FatPhil (2408), Espoo, Finland Jun 10, 2007 Draught (Sahti Days @ St. Urho’s, Helsinki)
Very dark and murky. Banana and dark fruits aroma, some esters too. Taste is a hugely bold sahti, but some alcohol comes through. Fully malty sahti plus some rich coffee tastes too. spporras (260), Finland May 27, 2006 (Draught@St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki) Traditional Finnish sahti, which has a light aroma of banana and yeast. Dark orange brown colour, murky and very small, fully diminishing head with very small lacing. Flavour of banana and slight strawberry. Very softly carbonated, dry (astringent), slightly alcoholic and medium to full-bodied palate. Good brew, which is not so sweet, e.g., like “Hollolan Hirvi Kivisahti” and “Lammin Sahti”. 18/05/06 sayravai (3224), Helsinki, Finland May 12, 2005 Updated: May 16, 2007(Draught) Murky darkish brown color with almost no head. Bananaish-fruity, sweet and vinous aroma with hints of alcohol. Sweet and dark-fruity, quite strong banana flavor with some alcohol. Sticky-sugary finish. Thick, medium to full-bodied, flat-carbonated palate. A sweet and slightly alcoholic, vinous but quite straightforward sahti.
