COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aura is a pale and fresh lager with a pleasant saaz hopping. The fresh flavor is aromatic and balanced. Aura has been brewed to celebrate the 120th birthday of the original Aura beer (brewed in Turku), as well as the 775th birthday of the city of Turku, the oldest city of Finland. The hopping has been considerably reduced compared to the original recipe.

Very nice head, golden color. Stingy, harsh aroma with some powerful hoppiness but also some nasty boiled egg smell. Smells a bit like cheap cider. Very hoppy, citric flavor. Not very Finnish at all. Nice malty aftertaste. Not to enjoy in large quantities.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pilsener golden with a nice, creamy, hoppy nose. Rather light-bodied with a good malty feel, but eventually the bittering hops take over resulting in a pronounced, bitter finish. 030106

madsberg (10184) - Søborg, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2006
Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Off white dense head. Sweet and herbal nose. Some fruits and berries are notable. Flavour is quite hoppy and sweet. Thin body and quite vague mouthfeel. Light bitter in the end. NO long lasting on the palate.

omhper (19378) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 3, 2005
Bottled. Pale yellow with fizzy, brief head. Aroma of apple and toffee. Sweet and raw, heavy on vegetables, cider and glue. Sharp, fizzy mouthfeel. Offensive and only consisting of flaws with no redeeming features.

Bottled. Golden colour, white thin, disappearing head. Malty hoppy aroma. Bready malty flavour with strong hoppy bitterness. A bit skunky aftertaste. Very watery.

Light, golden, slightly sour macro lager of no particular distinction besides a slight graininessand the fact that I had it in Jurmo. Jurmo is a damn fine place to relax.

brunnsbe (75) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 15, 2004
For some reason I like the taste of this beer compared to most other Finnish lagers. A bit sweet in the aroma, and compared to the other reviewers I would like to have more hops in it.

Slightly hoppy "pils" aroma. Starts with bland lager taste, some hops come up nicely in the middle. Ending is metallic and somehow spoiled, does not make me want it again.

Lager color, foamy white head, small but quite steady. Not much aroma - slightly metallic. Watery and light palate - a bit grassy hops in flavor. Like a light beer with some hops thrown in.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2006 (Bottled, re-rate 04/2006) Clear, golden color with a small , lacy head. Grassy, lightly aromatic-hoppy, toffee-caramely aroma. Somewhat acidic, bitter-hoppy flavor with not much maltiness. Quite long, dry and bitter finish. Light-bodied, dryish and quite (fizzy-)carbonated palate. A pleasant deviation from Finnish bulk lagers, but not quite up to the pilsener scale. Add more malt and some Amarillo hops, and we’re talking...
