Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Jun 8, 2005 Smells like an American, pale color, slight citrusy tang in finish, few esters, and almost no yeast. |=( tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA May 23, 2005 HEFE? More like a Kristal. Lacks the fullness and wonderfulness of a hefe. Let them have shit floating around in it for god sake. This is decent, though it lacks fullness and complexity. Much more one note and even has some lager bitterness that does not fit with the style and spirit of a Hefe---NEXT! Jine (855), Nutley, New Jersey, USA May 21, 2005 5.20.05 at brewpub
This is a very different brew than that of the ratings from 2003. Aroma was good, taste was not sour.
Looks filtered. This is a decent hefe from harvest moon. Seems like it should be in the "American Wheat" category however. JK (2356), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Sep 6, 2003 Light and cloudy. Lots of banana in the aroma. Taste was too sour, hiding the wheat. Dogbrick (2166), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 2, 2003 This beer had something seriously wrong with it. Light murky gold color with a medium thin white head. Thin lacing. The aroma can be best described as Deep Woods Off. The aroma was so pungent it ruined any flavor there may have been. Same goes for the finish. This is the first beer that I have tried that smelled and tasted like bug spray. Needless to say I didn't like it.
