Commercial Description:
A slightly bold brew sure to please both "hop-heads" and casual palates! Brewed with 100% floor malted Maris Otter. Kettle hopped with a hand selected blend of American and German hops, and then dry-hopped with English First Gold hops, lending hints of apricot and citrus.

3.30.08 This, of course, was a pretty standard IIPA. It’s good but its main attraction is the hops, and it’s done fairly well.

Draft sample at brewpub. I was looking forward to this. Hazy orange with white head. Nose is a battle between American, and English hops. Taste is much the same with a thin, sugary malt bacground. Earth and citrus hop flavors battle ont eh tongue leaving an odd bitter flavor at the end. Just way too much going on here. Need to tone it down. I dig the experimentation, but too many differing hop flavors. Ma do well with a bit of age on it. The taste grows on you, but I’m too weirded out after expecting a big, in your face American DIPA. Not bad.

This rating isn’t fair because I am not a huge fan of IPA’s. That being siad this beer is orangy, cloudy. The taste is fruitful and reminded me of Apricots. Strong Alcohold taste but went down smooth. One of the better IPA’s I have tried - but doesn’t beat a good stout.

Fully cloudy, rather pale golden hue. The head is white and quite limited to a small cover. Tea-like, orangey and juicy nose with an interesting limey tweak combined with white grapefruit and expressive resin. Kinda complex smelling. Tannic palate, mostly dry. Well aromatic and tasty. Medium bodied with active, cleansing carbonation. Less watery than the other Harvest Moon beers that I’ve had. Piney, rather green and fresh hop showcase. Hard to appoint adjectives on the malts. They obviously serve as a support ingredient. Good, clean and pleasant I2PA.
