COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our award winning dark ale which is an original London style, lighter in body than a stout but with the same alcohol content. Brewed with pale, crystal, chocolate and black malts to create a creamy, smooth, roasted, slightly chocolate tasting ale with a bit of hoppiness in the finish. The name comes from the fact that after brewing, the mash is given to a local farmer and there can't be anything better than spent grain from brewing for fattening up a pig.

Bottle (thanks to Daknole)(Iím not the hellbilly he is referring to)... Poured dark brown with a thick beige head. Remind me of a more English style porter. Worty sweet, cocoa, earthy and herbal hops. Low bitterness and thin palate. Oats and grains. Faint roast or toasted characters.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall pure brown head. Aroma of rich chocolate, roasted malt, lactose, cream and a good dose of caramel and nuts - strong! Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty flavour of hazlenuts, earth, milk, cream, lactose and even some dry grain noticeable. Aftertaste shows some depth with the caramel and sweetness alongside the bitter nutty and malt flavours - not much aside from that, however. Overall, a good porter and one that shows the roasted malt and earthiness expected from the style, but lacks a touch in complexity and depth. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from my coworker, Randy, on 27-October-2015 for US$9,99/six pack from a grocery Store in Great Falls, Montana sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 24-April-2016.

Pours a dark brown with a small tan head and some lacing. Smell is of cocoa, malt, and a touch of coffee. Taste is of dry, cocoa, malt, and a little dark fruit. Ends a tad bitter.

Poured from tap dark brown with almost no head. Some chocolate and nut on nose. Taste is pretty crisp with pretty short finish.

Not pitch black liquid sitting under a small tannish head of foam. The nose reveals notes of roasted malt and chocolate. One other thing there; either hints of fruit or something that the hops are creating. Roasted malt, chocolate, a fruity presence from the hops, a wee bit of coffee. Thereís a month and year on the label for notching but I donít see where itís been marked. Full flavoured for sure but it is a bit thin on the palate. Easy drinking Porter because itís smooth and packs a nice taste profile. Thanks Jay for the chance to try it!

Sweet with sugar like flavor. Malt and darks are present. Thin fadinghead. Not thick and not astringent but a bit of a strange flavor. Is that the pig A** coming through? Still a nice brew I would drink again. Vanilla and sugar with light toast.

A bit too think for my taste. The mouthfeel and underassertive flavor was a bit disappointing. Bottle courtesy of the parents on their drive back from Alberta in 2015.

Dark brown, standard 90s porter nose, a bit fudgey. Sweetish character, and a touch of chocolate. Old skool - if youíre doing this type of thing you really have to nail it, which this doesnít.

Aroma is malty and sweet. Mouth is smooth. Lots of copper flavor, like sucking on a penny. Hints of chocolate, and a little caramel. Hints of toffee.

Dark with a light beige head. Lightly roasted malts, chocolate, a bit of burnt malt, a bit of earth. Medium thin body with a decent creaminess to it. Finish is sweet with light roast. Solid porter.

Tastes almost acidic. Localized bitterness on the back of tongue. Donít like asses on my beer labels.
