Our award winning dark ale which is an original London style, lighter in body than a stout but with the same alcohol content. Brewed with pale, crystal, chocolate and black malts to create a creamy, smooth, roasted, slightly chocolate tasting ale with a bit of hoppiness in the finish. The name comes from the fact that after brewing, the mash is given to a local farmer and there can't be anything better than spent grain from brewing for fattening up a pig.

I had this on tap at Johnny Carino’s in Billings. It was very dark but not as dark as some porters I’ve had in the past. It was very smooth with a nice full bodied flavor and clean aftertaste. I will drink this again next time I am up that way.

Growler filled from the source in Belt. Consumed two hours later in Choteau, Montana. Great off-white rocky head with decent lacing. Full mouthfeel. Malty flavor with chocolate and caramel notes. Not as roasty as some porters Ive had but a very good example. Fun little brewery in an off the beaten path spot. Brewer mentioned that he has a bottling plant in the works, hopefully this delightful porter transitions well to the bottle.

A rich roasty aroma, some coffee. This is pretty good. A hint of coffee, some richness but not thick really. Best beer I’ve had with ass in the title for sure.

Glass:Sam Adams Perfect Pint
Appearance:Dark brown with red hues and a two finger head that quickly dissipated into a thin layer of tan scum.
Aroma:Aroma is mainly of thick, rich caramel and a hint of roast.
Flavor:Flavor is a does of roast with a finish of dark caramel and earthy hops.
Palate:Medium bodied with solid carbonation
Overall:This has a very "homebrewed" quality about it that I love. Excellent porter all the way around.

On draft @ The Belt Creek Brewpub when Harvest Moon had its brewery in the brewpub. Dark, reddish brown body. Hints of chocolate and roasted coffee. Roasty chocolate flavors slightly smokey. One of my favorite porters.

I like this beer, but not as much as Harvest Moon Nut Brown. It tastes good, like a pig’s ass with a hint of smegma. mmmmmmmm good

Sampled 14-June-2010. From tap at Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton, Montana. Funny name caught my attention and after a sample, I ordered quite a few of these during my stay. Dark pour into thick off-white head that lingers into sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark roasted chocolate. Initial flavor of dark roasted coffee, sweet creamy chocolate that fades into a slightly bitter, roasty finish. I hope to sample this one again soon!

Pours a very dark blackish mahogany with a fair sized light brown head. Nose of chocolate, molasses and malt. Creamy on the palate but with a little thinner viscosity than most premium porters. Taste is malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses with a little hoppy bitterness on the finish. A good porter but not quite top tier. Pairs well with dark meats such as goose or duck.

Draft at Applebee's Great Falls. Served too cold so order something else and wait. Black with long lasting foam head. Sweet aroma. Light bitterness and a fruit edge to the flavour. Very, very nice with a smokey finish.
