Jine (855), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Apr 3, 2008 3.30.08 First brew of the day on my first trip to the Moon in two years. I’ve always been a sucker for a nice porter. I also am partial to smoked brews. Really delicious.
rman18 (150), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA Feb 25, 2008 Nice warm beer. The taste is dark malt, slight chocolate, slight coffee. The appearance is dark brown, nice head. The aroma is beautiful matching the taste. The only down side is the palate. This beer is CO2 carbonated, but probably would be much better with Nitrogen. It leaves a slight fizzle in the mouth, similer to the Guiness Extra Stout, but I will be getting this one again. NICE! jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 6, 2007 on tap-pours a light brown head that laces and black color. Aroma is coffee, dark malt-some chocolate. Taste is smoky/peat, coffee, dark malt-some chocolate, faint hops. OK carbonation. Not my style, but nicely done.
Rastacouere (5258), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 28, 2007 Hazy deep coffee coloured ale topped by a small off-white film. Earthy aroma where the peated malt tones come out convincingly and cover the chocolate flakes that are far more developed in mouth. Nonetheless, the texture remains quite thin and rather watery even. Mild leafy finish with mineral and kinda beany tones. Not bad, but unpolished palate. scraff (1632), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 9, 2007 Draft - Black, light tan creamy head. Smoked coffee and vanilla tones sit on wafts of fresh cow manure (not as bad as it sounds) Flavor held further ashy smoked flavors that balanced on more vanilla and roasted coffee notes. Light to medium bodied, medium bodied, smoked, bittersweet finish. Not bad at all...
