tompete (68), Burlington, Iowa, USA Mar 31, 2008 Thin head with a very hoppy nose - alfalfa hay. Wonderful hop flavor and bitterness. I was looking for a tiny bit more body or malt flavor for balance.
bobinlondon (485), Harrow, Greater London, England Dec 21, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Royal Oak, Borough. Amber with white head. IMO the best balanced of Harveys regular range. Malty with balancing resinous and citrus hops. fonefan (6116), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 18, 2008 Cask (handpump) @ Charlies Bar, Copenhagen, Denmark. Light unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, moderate hoppy, grass, flowers, grapefruit, lemon. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet amd bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (190708) DruncanVeasey (1913), No. 46, Leicestershire, England Aug 30, 2008 The Garland, Redhill. Red amber with a dissipating white halo. Medicinal cherry lolly aroma with hints of raspberry, butter, toffee and dog. Distinct note of rabbit urine (straw, grass, digested cereals). Mouth papery strawberry sherbet (flying saucers), bit of marzipan, less of the house dankness, signature big unaromatic hop bitterness. Weakly fruity bitter. Not overly keen if I’m honest. KimJohansen (5208), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 Clear deep golden with tiny off white head. Fruity aroma with hoppy notes sweet flavor with peach, carolus and floral hops that gives it a bitter end. thebeertourist (2060), Oslo, Norway May 16, 2008 Cask at The Royal Oak, Borough. Hazy amber with a small froth. Fruity, cellarish, earthy and woody aroma which is reflected in the taste as well. A bit perfumey and certainly more complex than your ordinary bitter. Good bitterness, too. A complex little thing.
