Bottled. Light copper colour with a small off white head of large bubbles. Floral hops on the nose with some biscuity malt. A balance of malt and hop flavours, a sweet start and a dry bitter finish. Not bad.

--> 12,11,12,11,12,11 - 11,

Rating from an old notebook. Orange coloured with no head. Huge whiff of the characteristic Harvey’s yeast, bread and caramel. Sweet, deliciously malty, toffee and more than anything just very, very bready. Harveys are such a very good brewery but a 4.5% pasteurised bitter can only ever reach a certain level and this is about as good as it gets.

Bottle. Pours brown/copper with a thin white head. Nose is a deep sweet caramel malt character and tiny bit of hop fruitiness. Leather and molasses in there too. Flavour is sweet and fruity and a little bit of bitterness. Nice caramel malt character, reminding me slightly of Anchor Steam. Good session bitter, very well balanced flavours.

Easy-drinking ale with malt and hops in a great balance. Nothing remarkable but an extremely solid brew.

A Mes rate. Bottle from the glorious Harveys shop in Lewes.
Attractive golden brown with a reasonable off white head. Similar to the Blue Label I just had, the pasturisation is rather too evident but the rest of it is nice enough and well balanced. Bloody hell I wish they didn’t ruin their beers by pasturising them. Clearly a tasty brew underneath but there is just too much card. Hints of the glorious Harveys yeast and some good leathery bits too. Malt and hops are in perfect balance but I would like a little more bitterness in the finish. Nice but bottle conditioned it would be SO much better.
