HogTownHarry (3286), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 22, 2008 on cask at Royal Oak (London - Borough). Clear light amber with a smallish frothy head. The aroma seemed a bit sour at first, and thin - light grain malt, grassy and slightly catty/funky. The taste reminded me of light rye toast, it had a weak bready yeastiness, but a very grassy finish, that I really dug by the end of the pint. Light bodied, mildly astringent, quite still, but slick on the palate and the linger is pleasingly acidic. My initial impression was that this was very one-dimensional, but it developed subtleties I really enjoyed - I think this is underrated. downender (1618), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Jun 22, 2008 500ml bottle. Pale amber with a small, off-white head but plenty of carbonation. Aroma of floral hops with a hint of caramel. Flavour had some biscuity malt with a buttery edge and a short dry finish. Ok. Skinnyviking (2725), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 17, 2008 Cask. Low white and quickly disappearing head. Clear amber body. Weak fruity aroma. Relatively bitter and yet fruity flavor with low carbonation and a good dry long and bitter aftertaste. Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Apr 18, 2008 500ml bottle from Middle Farm, East Sussex. Deep gold colouration. The fruity nose is undermined by the dreaded diacetyl hints. There is decent maltiness and some tangy liveliness but overall, SilkTork calls this correctly - it’s but a shadow of the cask beer. Rune (1812), Tromsø, Norway Mar 24, 2008 275ml bottle from an eight pack of assorted Harveys beers (thanks to Wivi-Ann). Golden brown body over a beige foamy head. Bitter fruits in aroma and bittersweet flavour of hops and malt in taste. Thin to medium palate (15.03.2008).
