1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
The delicate hop character turns out to be dry, dusty and boring, while the malt sweetness is bland and watery. Horrible stuff may be a bit strong, but it aint very good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Pours a clear, mid-amber colour with a small off-white head of large bubbles. A light resin aroma of hops, with a touch of malt to balance. Flavours are clean but fairly subtle; hops again but with a balanced finish. A good session beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled) Not a bad pale ale if you want something you dont have to think about that retains nice texture. Some light fruity hops and toffee malt sweetness

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light, honey-yeasty ale aroma. Good bottle, light pale amber with an off white head. A little tinny, a little tannic, lightly sweet, not very bitter. Slight woody finish, thin bodied. Thanks to Triock for bringing this back from Sussex.

50cl bottle picked up in Hastings. Golden amber with a loose off-white head; malty aroma; sweet malty flavour, with a few light hops thrown in. Not my favorite Harveys.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear copper with no head. Nose is bit of caramel malt and lemon and fruity hop aromas. Taste is fruity citrous hops and a caramel malt backbone. Bit weak and watery though, probably because pasteurised bottles. Not bad though.

Harveys bitter är en ljus lätt ale med ganska mycket humlenärvaro. Lättdrucken.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. Copper colour. Dry, with some earthy hops. Finishes quite bitter. Not bad as pasteurised bottled weak bitters go (that doesn’t mean it is exactly good). Far better than the Harveys IPA sampled shortly before.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A Mes rate. Bottle from the glorious Harveys shop in Lewes.
Pale amber brown with a thin, bubbly off white head. Clearly pasturised aroma with hints of caramel and leather plus a very pleasing whiff of the Harveys malt store. A little too basic in the mouth. Very odd minty note to it really isn’t sitting too well with me. Mostly caramalt and some faint mineral notes. Far from their best beer but drinkable all the same.
